I am a landscape artists based in the Yorkshire Dales. Using the medium of oil paint, I look to explore the beauty of the natural landscape in a traditional format.
My work often focusses on the transitory nature of human interaction with landscape. This causes me to reflect on how our own lives and our species are a moment in the life of this planet, and how nature moves on regardless of our belief that we are in control. I
use traditional compositions and techniques to explore the attitudes towards nature in the 19th century and what, if anything, has changed.
