Join us for a weekend celebration of art, dance, music and traditional crafts from across the New Forest, showcasing age-old skills and contemporary artwork alike.
With the event being located on the banks of the beautiful Beaulieu River, this provides a stunning backdrop for you to browse works from painters, ceramicists, woodturners and carvers, jewellery makers and more, while all around you can listen to traditional and contemporary music from roaming buskers, storytelling, poetry recitals and Morris dancing.
The New Forest has a history of traditional artisan crafts and skills, that were it not for a few dedicated artists, would be lost forever. The Traditional Arts Festival is an event where these skills will be embraced alongside more modern and contemporary art.
The New Forest has a wealth of accomplished artists, and this event is an opportunity to showcase their work, and will include: traditional painters, ceramicists, jewellery makers, print makers, quilters, weavers and spinners, right through to the forgotten or lesser known crafts of the forest including: knotting, peg dollies, wood carving, whittling and manual lathe turning. There really is something for everyone.
The event also includes a range of buskers to include modern and contemporary music through to traditional folk-singing and Morris dancing.
All located on the banks of the picturesque Beaulieu River in the heart of the New Forest.
